The autumn this year (2023) in the UK was rather mild.
Our homegrown summer flowers continued blooming on the roof of the DIY shed we created last year to enhance the ''green surfaces'' and create more insect habitats.
Suddenly the temperatures dropped; today, as I write to you, it is 3 degrees, and I am wearing my warm cardigan. I woke up and looked outside. I felt sad that the gorgeous, bright-coloured, impressive flowers were dying. I know it sounds childish, but perhaps I am allowed to be and feel like a child sometimes. Sure, can you?
So... I decided to attempt, for the first time ever, to hammer the flowers and, in this way, to attempt preserving part of them forever. I was not certain of exactly what I would create or how to do this, but without great planning, I played with the flowers for a while; my dog left the room immediately since he dislikes the loud sounds and hammering; and when the result was optimal on the paper, I started collaborating kindly with my acrylic paints, and you can see what happened.
The freedom that this experimentation gave me was unbelievable.
Time stopped for a few hours, and I completed the artwork with so much pleasure hidden in my body and soul. Now I know this is the next collection for my website, which can be beautifully gifted as a unique present.
Nature, art, and painting can set us free, as long as we let go!
Take care and remember to look after yourself!
